Golden Skies Beyond the Construction Zone ;-)

I'll never tire of seeing the color-saturated sunsets that blanket the Rockies, especially after summer storms. (These pictures - snapped with my phone as I drove into town - do not do the colors justice. Sigh.)

Tonight, as I peered over the construction signs to marvel at the golden hues in the sky, I thought of my friends who are neck deep in parenting littles. You're "in the construction zone" of family life, building memories and mending booboos and tending to the nitty gritty details of parenthood. I hear your exhaustion in our stolen moments of conversation, as we compare notes on diaper creams and homeschool plans. So much WORK surrounds us every hour of every day. That's motherhood, right?

BUT... y'all... this photo is the perfect illustration of the BEAUTY that sits on the horizon, just beyond our "construction zones." Yes, there's a mountain of work in the foreground... and, yes, it often looks downright messy to passersby... BUT... there's jaw-dropping, soul-hugging RICHNESS ahead... a stunning tapestry of love and memories will envelop our families in the years to come. How MARVELOUS to work toward this beautiful end, right???

I know this is a random post, but I just had to give a shoutout to my mama friends after seeing tonight's sunset. That golden horizon is just beyond the work at hand. You've got this, peeps!
