Adventure Club 2021
We love our homeschool "adventure club!" A sweet friend volunteered to organize/lead these weekly hikes, and we're so thankful she invited us to join the gang. (Thanks, J!) The kiddos range in age from wee little babes to seniors in high school, but the bulk of the crew is in elementary and middle school. We've had a great time exploring rivers, forests, foothills, and meadows together! Here are a few recent photos:
If you're a homeschooling family who's hoping to add more nature studies to your routine, then I highly recommend assembling a hiking club with your peeps. It's an easy and fun way to guarantee that outdoor exploration will be a priority in your schedule. Simply choose a different trail each week, and then explore the area (including animals, plants, and even poop!) as you hike. We always begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer, but you could easily tailor your routine to your group's interests/preferences. My only advice is to keep it simple; kids are hard-wired to explore the world around them, so you don't have to plan much. ;-)
Rain, snow, or shine, we look forward to many more adventures with our crew!!!
